I received a couple of emails this week, and I noticed each had this cool little Extension Logo down in the signature area. I have the normal email signature like most folks. You know, name, phone number, address, etc. But, I was unware that you could add a graphic image to your email signature, plus this little logo really seem to add a lot. Now, I must warn you that this signature graphic will only be displayed in GroupWise if you are running GroupWise in html mode. For info about GroupWise html mode, please click here for more info. (Note - this TnT tip was for GroupWise 6.5, but it still works for GroupWise 7.x)
So the question is, "how do I add the Extension or Texas Agricultural Experiment Station Logo to my email signature?" This OPS entry will walk you through the steps to add the official Extension or TAES logo to your GroupWise email signature. (Note - You must be using GroupWise 7.x to add a graphic image to your email signature.)
Since I have started this blog, I have had several folks say, "When I print off your instructions I lose the right hand text and graphics". The next question is, "How do I fix that?"
Well if you are a user of Internet Explorer, there is hope. IE 7, which is due out some time in the near future, is going to have a Print Preview that will let you print web pages correctly without chopping off the right hand content. However, great news, there is no reason to wait on Microsoft because there is a solution already out there in the World!
Say hello to Firefox 1.5! With just a simple click on Print Preview, you can print webpages with all the content on the right hand side.
To download FireFox 1.5, please visit www.mozilla.com/firefox
Back in January, I introduced you to PhotoStory 3 for Windows XP. If you would like to read that OPS entry, click here for more info. I suggested that you take it for a spin, and offered some ideas on using it for 4H and Interpretative events, educational programs, attachments to emails, and even adding photo albums to your TECO website.
Anyway, I heard back from many of you, and needless to say PhotoStory was a hit! If you have not used it yet, I encourage you to try it. For this OPS entry, I am going to show you how to prepare a PhotoStory to be sent by email. You can add a little spice to your email by sending those photos of 4Hers, pictures of the grandkids, or those great photos of the hunt to someone in the photostory format. Plus, you don't have to worry about resizing each photo.
This will also make the person on the receiving end of the email very happy because PhotoStory does an excellent job compressing the files down a optimal size for email.
I was talking to a colleague of mine, Robert Jenson, last week about adding a little color to my GroupWise Calendar. If you are not currently using the GroupWise calendar, I strongly recommend it. It does some great things. Anyway, I asked if it was possible to assign different colors to each day in the month view. For example, like holidays in red, yellow, or something. After a little research, we concluded that you could not recolor days in the month view of the calendar, but you could catagorize each event on that day. And, along with categorizing each event, you could then give that event a specific color.

This OPS entry will demonstrate how to catagorize your events and assign each event a different color using the GroupWise Calendar.
